London
... the flower of cities all "London, thou art the flower of cities all!" William Dunbar "The man who can dominate a London dinner-table can dominate the world." Oscar Wilde "I like the spirit of this great London which I feel around me. Who but a coward would pass his whole life in hamlets; and for ever abandon his faculties to the eating rust of obscurity?" Creative Writing Tours London Itinerary
London - the flower of all cities, is the city of royalty, the changing of the guards, black cabs and double-decker buses. As the birth-place of many literary greats such as Charles Dickens, William Shakespeare and Oscar Wilde, you will be charmed into the culture-rich life from Broadway to Soho and left hungry for more.
Imagine gaining inspiration from the cloisters of Westminster Abbey, or from the grim tales which haunt the Tower of London. The Writer’s Life in London will have you stepping back into history with your London Creative Writing Tours. You will meet new friends, visit some of London's icons such as Big Ben, Abbey Road, Piccadilly Circus, Marble Arch, Buckingham Palace, Trafalgar square, Greenwich Village and the Observatory.
Whether you are enjoying traditional English Pub meals, tracing the steps of literary greats on our walking tours and even a visit to a castle or cruising along the River Thames, London will have you stepping back in time and tantalize the historical creative juices.
Accommodation
Unlike other tours where participants are accommodated throughout Greater London, we keep everyone together at the same location. This is more fun, safer and keeps the group together in a connected way. You will have your own room and your host has carefully selected the perfect hotel with breakfast in the centre of London and walking distance to many of the main attractions including the Tube.

Westminster Abbey
Not merely a beautiful place of worship, Westminster Abbey serves up a memorable insight into the country's history. For centuries the country's greatest have been interred here and every monarch since William the Conqueror has been crowned here, its the perfect place for the historians in the group. |
Warwick Castle/Stratford/Oxford/Cotswolds
As part of our final day celebration, we will take a full day tour to medieval Warwick Castle. You will be transported back through its 1,000 year history as you enter over the footbridge to a bygone world of banquets, battles and ceremony. Stratford upon Avon is the birthplace of William Shakespeare. Oxford, dates back to the 13th century and among its famous students were Bill Clinton, C.S. Lewis, J.R.R. Tolkien and Lewis Carroll. The Enchanting Cotswolds is a charming blend of cottages with honey-coloured walls and thatched roofs, crooked half-timbered houses lining the streets, and ancient stone crosses, all set in the gently rolling hills ('wolds') that are so typically English in character. |
