Paris
...a moveable feast "If you are lucky enough to have lived in Paris as a young man, then wherever you go for the rest of your life it stays with you, for Paris is a moveable feast." Ernest Hemingway "An artist has no home in Europe except in Paris." Friedrich Nietzsche "Though I often looked for one, I finally had to admit that there could be no cure for Paris." The Paris Wife |

Creative Writing Tours Paris
Creative Writing Tours Paris Itinerary
Mesmerizing Paris – a moveable feast, is a feast of sensations that will have you wanting more. Some of the greatest artists and writers of the 20th century were attracted to the charm and inspiration of Paris … Faulkner, Camus, Hemmingway, Joyce, Satre, De Bouviour, Proust, Flaubert and Hugo to name a few.
Imagine waking up in the heart of Paris - the bells of Notre Dame bells ringing, the River Seine within walking distance and the smell of freshly baked croissants, crepes and baguettes wafting through your typical Parisian windows from the nearby boulangerie.... Can you see it, smell it, hear it, taste it? It is just a fingertip away ... Your Creative Writing Tour in Paris will bring you just that and more.
The Writer’s Life as a Parisian is one of the most exciting aspects of your Paris Creative Writing Tour . You will meet new friends, visit some of Paris icons such as the Eiffel Tower, the Pompidou Centre or the Louvre and the Musée d’Orsay or meet your fellow writers for a glass of wine at a writers’ haunt in the evening, then go on to dinner or a concert, the Opera or a jazz club – or simply return to your apartment and write!
Accommodation
Unlike other tours where participants are accommodated throughout Paris, we keep everyone together at the same location.
This is more fun, safer and keeps the group together in a connected way. You will have your own room and your host has carefully selected the perfect hotel with breakfast in the centre of Paris and walking distance to many of the main attractions including the Latin Quarter, Notre Dame and Les Marais.
Your Creative Writing Tour Typical Day
The day begins with Parisian delights, Creative Writing Classes and after lunch there is free time OR one of our planned tours:
As part of your Paris Creative Writing Tour we have selected cafes and restaurants for their literary and artistic significance as well as places of interest to inspire. The following is included as part of your Creative Writing Tour:

Shakespeare & Co.
A trip to Paris is not complete without a visit to the famous bookshop Shakespeare & Co. During the 1920s, it was a gathering place for writers such as Ezra Pound, Ernest Hemingway, Ezra Pound, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Gertrude Stein, and it was nicknamed "Stratford-on-Odéon" by James Joyce, who used it as his office. |
|
Hôtel de Vieux Paris
As part of our famous-writer-chase, we will meander the cobbled streets, on and along the River Seine and past the Hôtel de Vieux Paris home to the Beat Generation writers Burroughs, Ginsberg, and Kerouac. |
|
Latin Quarter
The Latin Quarter is a smorgasbord of Parisian delights of music, food, history and entertainment. This will fill your senses like no other as you listen to street music like the Piano Man in my YouTube video. The tour will not be complete without stopping for a spot of Kir or aperitif of the day before finding a position on the Saint Michele Bridge to watch the Eiffel Tower illuminations. |
